I know it is a long time ago since Italia Wave, but these have just been posted on flickr. They are really good. Am trying to get permission to use them. This must have been the first appearance of the new look Vince, and that "marzipan" suit. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fawi/2126523...

Some stunning pictures here from the Vienna Phihlarmonic Ball last night. Jeanne looks absolutely stunning. They got her age wrong though, she is 42 , I think. They still look very happy together. Bob wears all his medals, but I agree, his hair spoils it. Doesn't he realise, or even care? He could look...

Well Bob has topped the ratings of top single parent celeb that ordinary single parents can relate to. No surprise there. He's up there with Sarah Ferguson. Not sure how single parents can relate to her but there you go: http://you-and-me-kid.blogspot.com/
"to really help the planet, we have to go nuclear, fast" - Geldof Kill or cure, I guess. I'm not sure it will help the planet nor I guess do the former residents of Chernobyl. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_disaster Maybe nuclear power is unavoidable, but I think the alte...
Just read the Christmas NME. Interview with Peaches in it. Nothing too interesting except the little snippet about Christmas in the Geldof house. Apparently Bob gets drunk on wine, and belts out a few Rats songs. Every year. Every. Year. Also still fills theirs stockings on Christmas Eve. Ah...

From the Independent newspaper Ireland "We all have a story to tell, and while some of us get to share bits of it with the nation every Sunday, most people don't have that luxury. Actually, given that we are all leadi...

It never ceases to amaze how many subjects Bob can bluff his way around. Summary of his speech to some corporate bankers. Spot the spelling mistake- quite funny really "And rock is just what Geldof did for the bankers. In an industry full of rational lenders and bean counters, Sir Bob drove home t...

I thought I'd post a question, so we could all find out learn a little more about each other.
How did you get into The Boomtown Rats?
I had a coworker/friend who loaned me 2 Boomtown Rats cassettes in 1987 (in Grand Forks, ND). I really liked the music, so when I returned his tap...
Geldof's essay is part of a new book on the subject to be published this week. The details of this are innacurate. Fifi is 24, Peaches 18, Pixie 17 and Tiger 12 (i think) It has not been updated since it was written. If you are interested in this subject, the book would be a valuable asset. The title is in her...

I was with actress & comedian Lucy Porter about half an hour ago and she said that her and her sister were fans of The Boomtown Rats and followed them around the country.
Well yesterday morning, I was listening to Virgin Radio. They are running a music quiz (emphasis on the music), completely musical context. The questions are multi-choice and on particular question they played a clip and asked which 80s legend sang this. The answers were Madonna, ??? (could ha...
I am sure Bob will love this. "Now when I was a teenager, the coolest, baddest band in Britain were The Boomtown Rats. I'd rip my jeans, stick a safety pin in my ear, hide from my mother and sing "I don't like Mondays" at the top of my voice in the local church youth club pretending to be my he...
