Does anyone have it? On vinyl ? Or the singles?
Is the back cover, or inside cover different to UK version ?
Odd thing is I have never seen it on eBay or anywhere. The only reason I knew it existed was by downloading the album off the internet and hearing some new versions. -- Edited by Tin...

Geldof lays into media over Africa

I have heard so many people talk about how the quality of Rats music had fallen by the time they split , but I think this album stacks up with the best . I think the music is great , lyrics interesting, and the melodies are some of Geldofs best . I rate this just behind "Surfacing" as my favorite...

Also had Rat Trap as an essential punk download elsewhere.
Has anyone seen any Rats/Geldof stuff in any of the Hard Rock cafes dotted about the world? I can think of only one place. I was on holiday on the Florida Keys, Key West. The HR cafe there had a wall painting of Geldof, Spingsteen and one other (name escapes me). I took a picture of it and I will copy it to this...

During 1984 Garry Roberts injured his back on a motorbike accident, whilst buying up copies of Drag Me down. I presume this is accurate. I was also under the impression that during his layoff the Rats had a number of gigs to fulfill, my question is who was his replacement?
..., I was 13, this record came out (I guess it came out in 86, but it took a while to cross the channel to Germany). Obviousy, I had the LP version, though I think there was a CD already. I'd bought "This is the world calling" as a single before, and loved it, but I loved this album even more. A guy with m...

MJ asked this question in another topic, but I thought I'd give it more prominence. The Boomtown Rats CD reissues and the "Someone's Looking at You" DVD are all European releases only. This means paying import prices for the CDs, but even more dire, it means not being able to play the DVD at all on most No...
I am gonna start something here . I usually trade anything rare I have for something else rare . I want to start posting links to rare tracks here and I want others to do the same . I don't know if anyone else has heard any of the tracks from the back catalogue being played on the radio, because I haven't. Except of course when Bob was being interviewed by Jonathan Ross.

Hi,
one of the songs I really love, when it's played live, is Banana Republic. I've heared it once in Mainz, Germany in 2001 or 2002 first row. WOW, even though Bob was very ill, got a flu, it was the very best performance of Banana Republic. Another great live version is on Dave 12" single. I also ...

Is it just my cd, or does the very start of 'I Can Make It If You Can' on The Boomtown Rats cd sound a bit wonky? It's like i was playing the LP version and i just jogged the sterio!

Jonathan Ross asked Bob if there would be a Rats reunion. Bob said 'no' and the tone was a definite no, not a maybe or anything near to it. Sorry folks

The art work on the new CDs is really good. Lots of little pieces and all the lyrics for In the long grass.
Only thing is I reckon the six posters (with the essays) would be really good to have in an A3 format (or at least flat), so I could put them on the wall along with the Mondo Bongo po...

The prolific pen of David Clancy has been busy again. This time perusing over the aritstic merits of Mondo Bongo and V Deep. Take a look for yourselves and see if he has panned your favourite track, like he did mine ( Charmed Lives).

According to IMBd, Geldof appeared on the Howard Stern radio show October 27, 1990.

Hi all, new to the forum but have been a fan since i was 11(now 37) cant wait for "smiles" on Parky next week, does any one know what he will be performing at the brits .
I've asked around about this in various other places, and no-one knows about it or saw it. I read somewhere that Bob appeared on the Weakest Link in 2001 in a special Easter edition. Has anyone seen it? How did Bob/Ms Robinson challenge fair? Did he win the show? Would love to have seen it! :big...

Well for me they do!
