You'll all have heard in the news that Madonna has fast tracked an adoption of a young child from Malawi. I'm not going to discuss the ins and outs of that. This is just months after someone I used to work with did the same thing with a child from Ethiopia. I think this boy was orphaned, but am not 100% certai...

SIMON WOODROFFE, the founder of Yo! Sushi, recently held an end-of-summer party at his boat at Cheyne Walk. The theme was pop and rock stars and, we’re told, among the guests was Sir Bob Geldof. Although, as you would expect, the former Boomtown Ra...
Those of you in Britian may know all about this, I just read about "One Day in History" today. People everywhere in the country write down what they did on October 17 and it's all put online (I think). It seems to be a huge project to raise the awareness about history as such. I don't know who's behind it, bu...
There is a book out now with what looks like a young Leslie Ash on the cover.
Not very interesting apart from a couple of pics of the Rats and a short interview with Geldof on p112. The interview was just prior to Tonic's release.

Well I've been back about 30 mins. It was a good talk, based on Bob's book and TV series - get yourself a copy if you haven't already. He was asked a few questions, which he answered, in a very lengthy manner (what's new). Howard thought he wasn't going to answer the questions as it must have been 10...

Bobs 2 shows in Denmark have been called of.At nearly £50 a ticket did they really expect to sell many tickets.Only 36 tickets were sold for BOTH shows.Sad,really sad.

Apparently Bob is speaking today. Trust me to be working right through to 6 pm today, no break Hopefully will catch it on the news later, Bono was shown over and over (to my delight).
There seems to be new posters up and I couldn't see the Geldof one. It must have been up there around 3 years. Why couldn't they have just left it there?
Bob Geldof is to speak at the Labour Party Conference next Wednesday, during a session on poverty. This could be shown live on BBC and possibly on satellite too. Don,t know what time.
"Don't miss Bob Geldof on what happens when you just feel you have to kiss Gordon Brown; or his university friend on what gives him his urgency."
Sounds err, interesting. Who would want to kiss Gordon Brown? Bob Geldof apparently. YUK! Tonight on bbc at 10.15 and live on bbc.co.uk

Bob has come in at no.1 of celebrities most likely to influence public opinion. No great surprise.
Bob Geldof (57 per cent), Jamie Oliver (49 per cent) and Tony Blair (40 per cent) came top of the league of those in the public eye who have the greatest ability to influence public opinion
Yet another list, this time of people who have made a difference. Bob is there, but I don't know which number.

Can anyone help me with my avatar? I have a pic of Bob and myself, which I would like to use, to avoid any copyright problems. I have tried uploading it from Flickr without success. Any other ideas? Thanks.

I found this video of Bob speaking at the Inspire Scotland Conference in March. This is 3 minutes out of 35. The WH Murray he refers to is a mountaineer who died I think on the mountain.

Just been confirmed that both Bono and Bob are to be characters in Ian Rankin's new novel, centred round the G8. Now I would just love to see DI Rebus and Bob fall out! There would be sparks flying.
