Hi all,
I've been busy while I've been away - I wrote three reviews. Siegen, June 5; Heilbronn, July 15 and Leipzig, July 16.
Heilbronn and Leipzig I wrote together with my friend Corinna, who has rarely posted on the forum but is quite regularly in chat. Our first co-production!
There are al...
Russell Brand is one of the stars of this year's Edinburgh Festival. His show has had very positive reviews. He entertainingly relives his row with Geldof at the NME awards this year. So, in an odd sort of way, it has been good for him. He gets a lot of mileage out of it. Wonder if Peaches has s...
hello everyone!
i was just wondering how do you get the pictures of bob, or anyone else, and put them in your replys or topics?
do you copy the shortcut on them, then paste them in the topic?
it never seems to work for me???

How about trying this - for a laugh?
This site analyses different types of relationships. It already had Bob programmed in so I tried him and me!!! It is based on astrology.

I heard that Bob will have a cameo part in a new film about Pink Floyd. Not sure if there is any truth in it, but the links I had don't work!! Does anyone else know anything about it?
There is an article in the latest edition Hot Press saying that Bob has being named as the most famous 'Bob Geldof' by a poll done for Geldof Magazine, a specialist magazine dedicated to people with the surname Geldof. It says its not surprised at the outcome but states that when a similiar poll w...
Hi, does anyone know the correct lyrics to Mary of the 4th form? I've looked everywhere but can't find them, it's driving me NUTS! Not even the official site has them, how goddamn shoddy is that?

An article in today's Scotsman on the general manager of the Balmoral Hotel, where many celebrities stayed during the G8.
I am only quoting a paragraph, not the whole article.
So the droves of celebrities who descended on the hotel last year during G8 presented no special problems. "They were so...
I keep hearing it in trendy clothes shops - not that I ever buy clothes from them.
At the time of release I didn't think much of the song, but it still sounds modern and fresh even today. It's very different to any other song I've ever heard.
What's think?
I received an email, which ended up in my junk mail. When I clicked on it to get rid of it, it had no sender but there was a message asking for help with an avatar. This person has a picture of them with Bob and wants help with using it as their avatar. Clearly that isn't spam! They had the right email (obviousl...
I just discovered that Bob is talking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in October (Sunday 8 October) talking about Geldof in Africa. Rather late in the day, I booked tickets and managed to get Block Q. That looks fairly central to the stage but back a bit. How excited am I?
Hi,
This is a chance for someone to provide a natty header.
It should be about 400mm wide * 25mm high (wide and short), and somehow encapsulate the Boomtown Rats and Geldof.
It could just all the record covers in a line, pictures of all the Rats (like the b/w ones in the Mondo poster),...

Now, 2-5.30 Friday
FOR THE LAST HOUR,4-5 , TALKING ABOUT HIS BOOK. DON'T KNOW WHETHER HE WILL TALK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.

I just heard She's So Modern on TV - Top Gear. So excited I had to mention it. They were looking at the Vauxhall Chevette and talking about the 70s and punk explosion. Cool!
I've just watched the German video posted by Scottie in the 'Favour needed from German Fans' thread, which includes some footage of Bob performing. It was brilliant to see - quite different to photos.
Does anyone out there have any links to video of Bob performing?
Has anyone uncovered the lyrics to the bonus tracks? I've looked but they are not there.
Got my copy of the anthology yesterday, and I must admit it is very impressively packaged.
I read the booklet and found some of the lyrics very interesting.....
Neatly packaged politics For a...

Is there any Rat's/Geldof fans out there who speak italian? I would like to chat whilst learning the language - that is if you have the patience to help me along. I can speak a bit, but would like to improve further.
I would welcome any english speakers too. I have been a Rats fan forever & was...
Well the time has come round for me to go to Amsterdam to see the Stones. Leaving tomorrow morning and the gig is on Sunday. This week I'll have some time to see the city too! We aren't flying back until Tuesday.
I'll tell you all about it when I get back. But as my usual luck would have it I have a sore thro...
Some of you may have seen this ABC interview already, but I make no apologies for putting it here. Very moving, funny, (shades of Father Ted with the nun ) honest and soul searching. I was almost in tears when he was talking about his loneliness and love.

Hi everyone,
I have an idea that could bring the members of this forum, and the people of the website back together again. Because after all, despite our differences of opinion, quoting oshora, “most of us have a common thread - we like the music and the man in some form or another.”

You may ahve seen this already, but this Japanese site has some interesting pictures of the rats tour of Japan in 1980. 4 different sets. I had forgotten Bob could ride a motorbike. Unfortunately I can't use them for my site. now on http://www.flickr.com/photos/geldofstory/

Considering the recent reissues were on Universal, this could mean lots of rare Rats stuff like Rock Goes to College, the Peel sessions, Top of the Pops appearances and other stuff broadcast on the BBC will be available

Have you guys seen the article by George Monbiot about Geldof? It's really harsh and accuses Geldof of all sorts of Betrayal. But Monbiot is usually such a clever honest writer! I reckon readers should make up their own mind. Please read it and tell me what you reckon!

Hi,

As I was driving home from work just before 5pm I heard it said that Bob was to be a guest on Radio 2 tomorrow afternoon. I checked out the Radio 2 web site but see no mention of this.....I presume it's the show before Chris Evans' show. Anyone know anything about this?
Ok, you may notice a change to the look and feel of this forum, but there has also been a change in ownership. As the folks at nogeldof.info have cast this forum adrift along with any other official/unofficial fan sites, we have reciprocated.
Anyway to start the new uncensored w...
Have a look at Eddy's site. It must be bad. He has announced the death of Geldof the "artist". Nearly gave me a heart attack. He has given up the site for good. He says he does not care about his music and about himself any more. VERY worrying. -- Edited by Scottie at 22:23, 2006-07-22-- Edited by Scottie at...
Please dont get a fright when you read Eddy's website. I thought Geldof was dead at first! Eddy has washed his hands of him and is giving up the site. He is really upset. Something bad has happened. He says he does not care about his music, his official fansites, or himself any more. Very wor...

It seems to me most singers lose their regional accent when singing and somehow gain an American accent. Why this is the case? I can think of few bands/singers which retain their regional accent:
The Proclaimers
The Arctic Monkeys
Robbie Williams
sometimes Bob Geldof

Sad to see the death of one of the founding members of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett at the age of 60. He wrote many of their early hits. Thoughts with his family and the rest of the band.

This Goth has a secret liking for Bob I think. This site is hilarious, especially the Goth Commandments. And who is in the "on the road", section, Bob of course!

This is a bit of a laugh. This Goth site is hilarious, especially the Goth Commandements. And who is in the "on the road" section alongside other bands, just Bob Geldof of course. I would never have though of anyone thinking of him as a GOTH now.
this was a follow up to the one she did last year called teenage brain.there was some fairly interesting stuff in there but i just had to grin all over when she started talking about the way Catholic schools and lessons are like brainwashing.
