Geldof talks about climate change and impact on the poorPaste this link http://clubofpioneers.com/blog/video-blog/18/ See a short video of Bob from Berlin on climate change and the poor. The link does work, I checked it. Cheers Irene-- Edited by Scottie at 19:05, 2007-02-16
Not as old as the Stones, but in general some of the better bands in my experience didn't break through until their lead singer (and most of the band) had lived a bit.
Examples....

What's your track of the day?
For some reason, over the last few months I've gone through a few small obsessive phases with Exile On Main Street, especially the track Loving Cup. I don't know why. I could, and have, listened to it over and over again. I don't know if it's the...

Bob certainly is a man of action, ready to fly 3 jets of European intellectuals over to Chad at a moments notice. This article is quite amazing actually when you think about it. Have you ever heard the phrase "Geldof conceded all ponts" before? No, neither have I. The passion is still as ev...

I missed this; I'm at work when Ellen DeGeneres' talk show is on and her weekly newsletter didn't mention this one. I'm not sure when it aired, but it's a nice 4 minute interview with Bob: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTX0B_uCYCoPeace & take care, debm
Alright. I did it for you guys. I shelled out 10 bucks for a copy of that poor excuse for a movie (cause no decent video club would have it on their shelves) and wasted 97 minutes (yes, I counted them) of my life to see 49 seconds of Bob on the big screen.
And I must say... It was well worth it.

Did anyone see or tape Fallen Angel the other night? I did not see it, but the child actress playing Rosie, the murderer as a young girl was listed as Tigerlily Hutchinson. Is it a coincidence or was it Paula's daughter?

Bob has once again been nominated for the Nobel peace Prize, 2007. One of these days, surely. An organisation from my own city Edinburgh has also been nominated. The Mercy Corps, a volunteer band of firefighters who go to any disaster area at a moments notice.

Whilst flicking through Claire Kings autobiography, I noticed a chapter about her alleged fling with Bob Geldof. This must have been around 1980-82. She mentions Skin on Skin being written about her and the fact that she was asked upto Bobs room (which at the time he was sharing with Simon Crowe)

Given the number of good singles this year, I can only name 19 albums that would be worth getting, and the Killers is the only one that I really like (though Muse and Arctic Monkeys are pretty good). So if anyone got record tokens, this is how to spend them!

Happy birthday on Christmas Day to Annie Lennox, now a full time campaigner, who is 52 today Does't she look amazing? Must be weird to have a birthday on Christmas day.
Sorry to hear of the death of soul legend, James Brown. My last memory of him is from Murrayfield Live 8, when he came on at the end and jammed with the others, totally unrehearsed. He will be missed.
I'd like to wish Bob, all his family and the rest of the band and their families and very Happy Christmas and all things good for the New Year.
Maybe amongst those good things could be some new music
Congratulatins to Bono on his Honourary Knighthood, which will make him on a par with Geldof. Sir Paul Hewson sounds good. Now all we need is Sir James Ure to make it complete.
