Another earthquake, this time affecting Pakistan, Northern India, Afghanistan etc. Whole villages have been wiped out, 1,000s of lives lost. If it isn't a man made disaster it is a natural one. And it always hits the poorest and most vulnerable (not that I wish it upon anyone at all).

Today was set aside for a memorial of this horrific event. There have been a number interviews on TV today with survivors. I just wanted to acknowledge it on here. This hasn't been forgotten. For the last few weeks, at least, it seems that every Saturday I wake up to something really really awful. Yesterday there were bombs in Delhi. Nearly 60 people dead. As we had a thread going here a few weeks ago which contained an exchange about Kate Bush, I thought I'd comment.

Sir Bob Geldof has vowed never to arrange another Live 8 gig - because he is getting too old.

BBC in the US on the news showed a clip of Sir Bob addressing the crowd as the sun finally reappeared at Glastonbury. Very moving. Hurray for Sir Bob!! Right on!! Did anyone here go to Glastonbury, by chance, and see the moment when the audience joined hands?

I saw it that some of you have been pictured with Bob. (Unfortunatelly a lot of them are too small) It would be great if you could send some pictures in bigger size. Thank you.
ArrGee (or Ian and Tina?), I just wanted to say I like the photos of Bob here above the message board! Much better than the stupid advertisement banner on it's own. And the new post-it symbol for sticky threads! Thanks for adding that.
I saw Bob Geldof on Parkinson playing what looked like a right-handed guitar, left handedly. ie. with the thickest strings at the bottom. Is this how he usually plays guitar? Anyone know?
